The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has canceled day 5 of Tokyo Game Show 2026 on September 21 due to an approaching typhoon that’s predicted to cause heavy rain and strong winds. Originally, Tokyo Game Show 2026 was planned to be the first five-day iteration of the annual gaming event. Activities on September 20 will continue as planned.

Due to the approach of Typhoon No. 25 on Monday, September 21 (a national holiday), winds and rain are expected to intensify in the afternoon, raising concerns about potential disruptions to public transportation. Therefore, prioritizing the safety of all attendees, exhibitors, and staff—as well as ensuring everyone can return home safely—we have decided to cancel the event for the entire day.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to attending the event for having to make this announcement.
We will issue refunds for tickets purchased for Monday, September 21 (a national holiday).
Please check the instructions provided by the ticket vendor where you purchased your tickets for refund procedures. We will also post an announcement on the TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 official website as soon as the details are finalized.
Additionally, regarding some of the stage events scheduled for Monday, September 21 (a national holiday), we are working to arrange for them to be streamed online as part of the official program, pending confirmation of the venue’s safety conditions.
