To celebrate the game’s second anniversary, Square Enix released new art of Octopath Traveler II for fans on Twitter/X. The new Octopath Traveler II anniversary art was illustrated by Rina Yoshiura from the art team of Team Asano.
Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are both available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Windows. The Octopath Traveler series surpassed 5 million copies sold worldwide as of December 20, 2024. This sales milestone includes physical shipments and digital copies sold.
The Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent mobile game is available worldwide on Android and iOS. Last year, Square Enix announced that the game’s services would change hands to NetEase Interactive Entertainment. The transfer to NetEase was complete on January 16, 2025.
Square Enix’s Team Asano lead and Bravely Default series producer Tomoya Asano teased that multiple reveals are on the way in 2025. These projects should “finally come to light soon,” as it was previously teased that fans would know about some developments in the Bravely series in 2024.
One of Team Asano’s latest releases was Triangle Strategy for Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 on October 31, 2024. Triangle Strategy first launched on March 4, 2022 for Nintendo Switch worldwide. The turn-based strategy RPG came to Steam on October 13, 2022. The game went on to sell over one million copies sold worldwide across both platforms in just nine months.
