Paramount Pictures has released an exclusive clip for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 before it premieres in theaters on December 20. The clip showcases the first showdown between Team Sonic (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) and Shadow the Hedgehog. Keanu Reeves will play the role of Shadow.

Tickets for the film are now live. Certain theaters will also hold a fan event screening on December 19. Those who attend will receive a limited edition Shadow print. Check out whether your nearest theater will hold the event here. Recently, director Jeff Fowler confirmed that the film will tease future characters for the series. According to the article the film will continue the “tradition set by the previous two films,” and will “set the stage for a potential fourth movie to introduce another video game character after Tails and now Shadow.”
Further, director Jeff Fowler stated that “It’s fun to see the fan debates online about who’s coming up next, who’s going to be teased at the end of the film. We have a lot of the same conversations. We’ve all got our favorites on the filmmaking side, and we’re all making great cases for ‘it should be this one or that one.’ It is fun to keep that anticipation. This movie is no different in terms of teasing new characters.”
Only time will tell if Sonic the Hedgehog 3 teases the debut of future characters such as Amy, Rouge, Silver, Chaos, or Metal Sonic. Lastly, the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie will premiere in theaters on December 20.
