Nintendo has released the version 9.2.0 update for Splatoon 3 with a new Grand Festival feature for existing amiibo, netcode optimizations to Salmon Run, and more.
Splatoon 3 update 9.2.0 also makes an adjustment to Tricolor Turf War, making it possible to see the names of players on the other attacking team to display on the screen. Their icons will also appear on the Turf Map.
Additionally, several balance adjustments were made to Splatoon 3 targeting a variety of weapons, including the Splattershot Pro. The next update will bring balance changes “based on long-term analysis of battle data,” according to Nintendo’s patch notes.
You can read up on some of the notable changes below:
Changes to amiibo
- Enabled a feature that allows players to remember the Grand Festival, even when not connected to the internet, by tapping the following characters’ amiibo figures at the amiibo box in the plaza.
- Callie
- Marie
- Pearl
- Marina
- Shiver
- Frye
- Big Man
Changes to Salmon Run
- Improved communication processing to reduce the time between players not on the host device touching Golden Eggs and being able to use them by approximately 1.5/60th of a second on average.
Changes to Splatfests
- In Tricolor Turf War, made it possible for players on different attacking teams to gauge each other’s positions by making it so that the names of players on the other attacking team display on the screen. Those players’ icons will also display on the Turf Map.
Lastly, Splatoon 3 is available now on the Nintendo Switch. A Nintendo Switch successor is currently being prepared by Nintendo, so Splatoon fans will likely get their next new dose of content on that platform with a fourth entry.
