Astro Bot Roadmap Reveals Multiple New Levels and Updates

Plenty of new levels and bots to look forward to.

PlayStation announced the Astro Bot “Building Speed” update will be released on October 17 featuring new speedrun levels and bots from Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade. A new Astro Bot roadmaps confirm that Building Speed is one of multiple updates being released in over the next month.

As revealed during State of Play, Astro Bot players will be able to test their skills in speedrun levels and climb the online leaderboards. With the help of Barkster, players will blast their way through a city in the Building Speed update.

After the update’s release on October 17, a new speedrun level will be added every week in various updates. Each of the updates will include two new Special Bots, with the first two being Eve from Stellar Blade and the other being a Helldiver.

Here’s the release schedule for each update:

    • October 17 at 6:00 a.m. PST: Building Speed
    • October 24 at 6:00 a.m. PST: Let it Slide
    • October 31 at 6:00 a.m. PST: Spring-loaded Run
    • November 7 at 6:00 a.m. PST: Helium Heights
    • November 14 at 6:00 a.m. PST: Rising Heat

Currently, Astro Bot has a 95 top critic average on Opencritic. The statistic comes from 148 critic reviews. On Metacritic, Astro Bot has universal acclaim as well, with 137 critic reviews and a 94 aggregate score.

Despite Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki’s recent comments on PlayStation original IPs, it’s clear that Astro Bot is an IP that should be fostered for years to come. The game has already become a trending topic on Twitter and other social media platforms as well. This is due to Astro Bot’s many easter eggs and cameos from other first-party and third-party games.

Lastly, Astro Bot is available now on the PlayStation 5, and a new Astro Bot DualSense controller is also available.
