    Mortal Kombat 1 Adding Ermac to Early Access on April 16

    Gameplay Trailer Revealed.

    NetherRealm Studios has announced that DLC character Ermac will be coming to early access for Mortal Kombat 1 on April 16. He will be available for everyone else on April 23. Further, they have also released a gameplay trailer for the classic character, alongside a new kameo: Mavado.

    Mortal Kombat 1 is the long-anticipated next entry in the beloved Mortal Kombat franchise. The game is available now and features various unique characters and brand-new ways to play. In November, during New York Comic-Con, NRS released the first DLC character, Omni-Man, for the game. They released Quan Chi in December, with the next character, Peacemaker, releasing in February.

    NetherRealm Studios has revealed the first gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1‘s next DLC character: Ermac. Ermac was an urban legend, a rumored character that no one could prove existed. He first made his official introduction in the series with Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. As for the new kameo, Mavado, he is a relatively obscure character who first debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

    According to the new gameplay trailer, Ermac will be available for early access owners on April 16. Everyone else will be able to play as him on April 23. Mavado will be available later in May. Check out the full trailer below:

    During the recent CCXP 2023 event in Brazil, Ed Boon held a panel dedicated to Mortal Kombat. During the event, he revealed that the game will be getting story DLC in the near future. He stated: “Just like we did with MK11, we’re going to release a second part with more story and we have a big surprise after that.”

    Mortal Kombat 1‘s predecessor, Mortal Kombat 11, also featured a story DLC. Titled Aftermath, the expansion released over one year after the release of MK11. With the previous precedent being set by Mortal Kombat 11, it is likely that Mortal Kombat 1‘s story expansion will release in Fall 2024, after the entirety of Kombat Pack 1 has been released.

    There are only two characters left for the Kombat Pack: Takeda and Homelander. It is unknown which will release for, however, Homelander will likely be available alongside the premiere of The Boys Season 4 on June 13.

    Lastly, Mortal Kombat 1 will add Ermac for early access owners on April 16. He will be available for everyone else on April 23. Mavado will also be available later in May.
