AI: The Somnium Files 3 Potentially Teased by Kotaro Uchikoshi

    Uchikoshi's wild ride may continue.

AI: The Somnium Files series creator Kotaro Uchikoshi posted a cryptic teaser on Twitter, potentially implying that AI: The Somnium Files 3 is coming soon. The tease comes nearly a year after Uchikoshi and director Akira Okada teased fans about developing a third game for the series.

In a January 2023 Dengeki Online interview, Uchikoshi and Okada discussed overseas interest regarding Hitomi Sagan and Kaname Date’s relationship, along with the possibility of AI: The Somnium Files 3. While leaving the opportunity for their relationship to flourish, the developers also shared excitement for a third game and the continued support of fans around the world. More than a year later, it appears that a reveal is finally on the way.

A Potential Teaser for AI: The Somnium Files 3

Kotaro Uchikoshi’s cryptic tease shows a dysfunctional TV monitor, with the Twitter post itself featuring strange strings of text. The text appears to be nearly identical to the text shown during Kuruto Ryuki’s episodes of cognitive dysfunction from AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative. Although it’s not confirmed yet, it’s safe to assume the teaser is related to the long-awaited third AI: The Somnium Files entry.

Update: Okada also teases a connection to AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative, further implying a third entry:

If AI: The Somnium Files 3 really is on the way, fans expect new and returning characters to join together for an intriguing new case. Of course, this means that players will once again encounter Kagami in the field of ABIS work.

AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Lastly, check out Final Weapon’s coverage of Spike Chunsoft mystery adventure games and visual novels below:
