Grasshopper Manufacture announced the upcoming Shadows of the Damned Remaster is now titled Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered. The game will be playable for the first time at PAX East 2024 at the Grasshopper Manufacture booth, according to company founder and CEO Goichi “Suda51” Suda.
The Shadows of the Damned remaster was first announced in June 2023, following reports that Grasshopper Manufacture acquired full rights to the franchise. A video was shown featuring protagonist Garcia Hotspur as he made his way into Grasshopper Manufacture headquarters to cause chaos. The company also confirmed that the remaster is “probably coming to all current platforms.”
Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered Demo Confirmed for PAX East 2024
Alongside the demo, PAX East 2024 attendees may challenge Suda51 to a game of blackjack at the Grasshopper Manufacture booth. Attendees that win a match against Suda51 will win an autographed set of Shadows of the Damned coasters. A “maniac-level” Shadows of the Damned quiz will also be available at the booth. The first six winners of the quiz will receive a custom Shadows of the Damned ring.

During last year’s Grasshopper Manufacture Direct, Suda51 teased a new game in development with off-screen footage. The game appears to be an action-adventure game with ability button mapping, weapon slots, and a potential time mechanic. Unfortunately, the available footage does not reveal much more about the game.
Grasshopper Manufacture was originally founded in 1998, and the company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023. The studio is responsible for several cult classics including Killer7, The Silver Case, No More Heroes, and much more. GungHo Online Entertainment owned Grasshopper Manufacture from 2013 until 2021. NetEase Games is the current parent company of Grasshopper Manufacture.
