Monster Hunter World Sales Exceed 25 Million Copies

A new all-time record for Capcom.

Capcom announced Monster Hunter World sales exceeded a total of 25 million copies worldwide, setting an all-time record for the franchise. The announcement comes as development of Monster Hunter Wilds, the next entry in the long-running series, continues at Capcom.

Released in January 2019 for consoles and January 2020 for PC, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion introduced several new monsters, a new story, new locales, and so much more to an already successful game. In 2023, the game continued to receive quality-of-life improvements, with the Steam version becoming Steam Deck verified in an update. Despite the lack of new DLC after Iceborne, the game continued to garner an active community.
