    Super Smash Bros Ultimate Adds Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Spirits

    Featuring The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Pokémon.

    Nintendo announced a new Spirit Board event for Super Smash Bros Ultimate will begin on February 9 featuring new Spirits from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This event will be available for a limited-time only with various Starter and Legendary Pokémon Spirits from the latest game.

    Over 33 million copies of Super Smash Bros Ultimate by the end of 2023, despite the lack of new DLC. 2024 may prove to be an intriguing year for the game, as Nintendo are hosting multiple new Spirits events throughout the year. The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Spirits event is the third new event for the game in 2024 alone. 

    Super Smash Bros Ultimate New Spirits Event Features Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

    According to the game’s official Twitter account, the third new Spirits event for 2024 will begin on February 9 in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This new Spirit Board event includes the following Spirits from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC: 

    • Fuecoco
    • Sprigatito
    • Quaxly
    • Miraidon
    • Koraidon
    • Ogerpon
    • Terapagos

    The event will last for five days, so it’s expected to end around February 14. Defeating the new Spirits in battle will award more gold than usual. As a reminder, gold may be used to purchase new music, Mii costumes, Spirit, and snacks for Spirits from the Vault Shop.

    Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on December 8, 2018, for Nintendo Switch. Two Fighter’s Pass expansions were released, adding a total of twelve new fighters to the game. The game’s roster is dream-like, with characters like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, Joker from Persona 5, Sora from Kingdom Hearts, and many more. Over one hundred stages and one thousand music tracks are featured in the game alongside its 89 fighters. 

    In 2024, Super Smash Bros series director Masahiro Sakurai is “wrapping up” his YouTube channel. He’s committed to creating and developing new games in the future, so he may be working on an all-new game right now.
