JP Games has announced a new cutting-edge RPG experience for adults titled Project SHALLAH. The project, which is now in-development, will take inspiration from the beloved Middle Eastern folktale: One Thousand and One Nights.
JP Games is a company formed by former Square Enix director, Hajime Tabata. In 2021, he announced that he was working on “two large scale RPG projects.” It is unknown if Project SHALLAH was one of these games. The release date for the upcoming game is currently unknown.
Project SHALLAH Details
In a new press release, JP Games officially announced that they will be collaborating with Quantum Solutions on a new RPG titled SHALLAH. SHALLAH, an Arabic/Hebrew term meaning “God willing,” will take inspiration from Middle Eastern folktales throughout history. Quantum Solutions is an AI development and hardware sales company. Only time will tell how they will bring this new “cutting-edge” RPG to life.
The press release describes the upcoming RPG as follows:
SHALLAH is a new RPG project that depicts a fierce battle of magic and sorcery and a love story between a human and a goddess in an epic world that incorporates the tale of One Thousand and One Nights. JP GAMES will be responsible for the overall planning and development, and will develop the game using its own middleware, “PEGASUS WORLD KIT.”
Quantum Solutions will own the SHALLAH IP and will provide all the support necessary to maximize JP Games’ strengths in content development based on their superior worldview design, technology, and game design.
Hajime Tabata initially established JP Games in 2018 after resigning from Square Enix. He’s previously worked on Final Fantasy XV, and, after forming JP Games, a mobile game titled The Pegasus Dream Tour. With his experience on creating incredible RPG worlds, SHALLAH will likely be an exciting game that will undoubtedly push the genre forward in a meaningful way. JP Games will likely reveal more details about the game in the coming months.
