Xbox has announced that the official 2024 Xbox Games Showcase will air on June 9. It will stream at 10 AM PDT/1 PM EDT, and will be followed by a “REDACTED Direct” focusing on a currently unannounced game.
Last year, Xbox had a surprisingly strong showing during the Summer Game Fest 2023 season. They showed off several exciting games such as Hellblade II, Starfield, Persona 3 Reload, Persona 5 Tactica, and more. This year, Xbox has several major games releasing, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and more that Xbox will undoubtedly show during the showcase.
Xbox Games Showcase 2024 Confirmed for June, “Redacted Direct” Airing Right After
On an official post on the Xbox Wire website, the company confirmed that the Xbox Games Showcase will air on June 9, 2024. The event will begin at 10 AM PDT/1 PM EDT/12 PM CDT. It is unknown how long the event will last. Afterwards, a direct focused on an unannounced game will premiere. Based on the picture released as part of the announcement and the description calling it the “next installment of a beloved franchise,” it will likely be the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise. Xbox will reveal more during the showcase.
As Xbox states, “this will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners.” Expect several surprise announcements from throughout Microsoft’s gaming division.
Xbox’s next game, Hellblade II, will release on May 20. The game’s Steam page describes it as follows:
