    Tekken 8 Reveals Opening Movie and Eddy Gordo DLC

    Bandai Namco has officially revealed the opening movie for Tekken 8 prior to its launch on January 26. The new trailer also teases the game’s first DLC character: Eddy Gordo, an iconic character who originated in Tekken 3. He will be added to the game in Spring.

    A free Tekken 8 demo is available now, allowing players to try out the game’s single-player modes before launch. Only a few weeks remain before the launch of Tekken 8, and Bandai Namco is releasing various trailers focusing on each character on the roster. The latest trailers have focused on characters that are returning from Tekken 7, such as Alisa, Dragunov, and Zafina.  

    Tekken 8 Teases Season 1 and Eddy Gordo in Opening Movie Trailer

    Tekken 8 Season 1

    Bandai Namco recently revealed the opening movie for Tekken 8. The sequence shows off many of the game’s major characters such as Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, Reina, Victor, Nina Williams, and more. The trailer ends with the reveal that the game’s first DLC character will be Eddy Gordo.

    Eddy is an iconic character initially revealed in Tekken 3. His capoeira fighting style makes him a unique fighter compared to the rest of the roster. He will be added to the game in Spring 2024. The trailer also outlines the release dates for Season 1’s other DLC characters. After Eddy, a character will release in Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Bandai Namco will likely reveal more details on Season 1’s DLC characters in the coming months.

    The Tekken 8 demo features the first chapter of “The Dark Awakens” story and a sample of Arcade Quest. In addition, players gain access to Super Ghost Battle after clearing the first chapter of Arcade Quest in the demo. The Versus and Gallery modes are also available with partial access. Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Paul Phoenix, and Nina Williams are the four playable characters for the Tekken 8 demo. Save data doesn’t transfer to the full version, however.

    Lastly, Tekken 8 launches January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Tekken 8 physical and digital pre-orders are now available, and players can score new Paul Phoenix avatar costumes as an added pre-order bonus.
