Genshin Impact Version 4.2 Update Now Available

HoYoverse have released the Genshin Impact Version 4.2 “Masquerade of the Guilty” update across all platforms. Primogems will be sent to all players as compensation for the game’s downtime. 

Genshin Impact Version 4.2 is the second post-launch update for the Fontaine series of updates. HoYoverse notes that this particular update is the conclusion of the Fontaine story line, so it’s one that fans will not want to miss. 

Genshin Impact Version 4.2 is Live

Genshin Impact Version 4.2 “Masquerade of the Guilty” is now live on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5. All players who are Adventure Rank 5 or higher will earn a total of 700 Primogems after installing the update and logging into the game. Normally, 600 Primogems are distributed after maintenance and bug fixes, but the additional 100 Primogems comes from an issue involving Neuvillette’s Lv. 6 Constellation Effect. 

Here’s the scope of compensation for the update, via HoYoverse: 

Maintenance Compensation: Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above by 2023/11/08 06:00 (UTC+8). Compensation must be claimed before the end of Version 4.2.

Compensation for Issue With Neuvillette’s Lv. 6 Constellation Effect and Other Issue Fixes: Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above by 2023/11/08 06:00 (UTC+8). Please log in and claim your compensation before 2023/11/11 06:00 (UTC+8).

Our developers will distribute compensation to Travelers via in-game mail within 5 hours after the update maintenance is finished. The mail will expire after 30 days, so don’t forget to claim the attached compensation in time.

Update Overview

As previously discussed, the upcoming update for Genshin Impact sees Fontaine on the verge of collapse as the Primordial Seawater attempts to destroy all inhabitants. Players will approach this danger in hopes of saving Fontaine, and a new weekly boss will make its debut. Moreover, the Fontaine map will be expanded with the Erinnyes Forest and Morte Region areas. 

Hydro Archon Furina and ace reporter Charlotte will also become brand-new playable characters in Genshin Impact Version 4.2. Fans may also look forward to various new limited-time events in phase 1 and 2 of the new update. 

Lastly, Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Windows and Epic Games Store. HoYoverse is currently developing a Nintendo Switch version of Genshin Impact.
