HoYoverse shared a brief statement via GoNintendo, confirming that the Switch version of Genshin Impact is still in active development. HoYoverse plans to share more details as development progresses further along. Global PR Specialist Xin Yang issued the following statement on behalf of HoYoverse:
“The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along.”
The Switch version was previously announced in January 2020 with only one other update regarding the development status later that same year. Genshin Impact was last said to be in the “polishing” phase for Switch during development of the Inazuma region.
Ongoing lockdown restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic affected development of the widely popular action RPG. Version 2.7 was delayed, leading to an extension of events for version 2.6 and compensation to all players of the game.
Further details regarding the new end date of version 2.6 events and the version 2.7 release date are coming soon. HoYoverse encourages players to keep up to date through their social media channels as the situation develops. Genshin Impact is currently available on PS4, PS5, iOS, Android, PC via Windows and Epic Games Store.
