It has been 3 long years since the broadcast of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and now it’s back and dominating like it once did in 2021. Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen contains the Shibuya Incident Arc, which is considered the best arc in the whole series. Seeing as how Mappa has been faithfully adapting the source material, we can expect some incredible episodes starting on August 31st. The trailer also features the second opening of the season which is performed by King GNU and is titled “Specialz”. They’ve performed the ending of the Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 movie and it was very well received. King GNU should replicate or even surpass their previous performance.
Mappa is investing heavily into Season 2, and it makes sense since the Jujutsu Kaisen is their most successful anime. It’s been revealed a while ago that Season 2 will feature anime exclusive fight scenes. They also recruited the legendary animator Arifumi Imai to work on the season. He’s the mastermind behind the Levi vs Beast Titan scene in Attack On Titan.
Plot of Shibuya Incident Arc
The Shibuya Incident Arc, without spoiling for anime only viewers, will revolve around the assault planned by Getou Suguru and the cursed spirits comprising of Mahito, Hanami and Jugou (and a surprise villain) plus others. Their main objective is change the dynamics between humans and cursed spirits, so that the spirits can rule the world instead. In order to do this, they must remove their biggest obstacle: Gojou Satoru, the strongest sorcerer. It’s impossible to kill him as he’s too strong so they devise a plan to seal him away instead. October 31st 2018 in Shibuya, Tokyo. That’s when and where they will set off their plan to seal Gojou away.
The whole premise of the arc is exciting, as Getou and his company will throw everything they have into this plan and the Jujutsu sorcerers will fight back. An all out war.
