G-MODE and Plus81 announced Shinjuku Soumei, a brand-new visual novel centered around the values of life and death. Platforms and a release date for Shinjuku Soumei were not announced, but several details were revealed.
Before Shinjuku Soumei, G-MODE re-released the Megami Tensei Gaiden series of games across Nintendo Switch and Steam. G-MODE is also publishing “picturesque adventure” game OU this month, and the company is developing its new visual novel alongside Plus81 staff.
Shinjuku Soumei Details
The protagonist of Shinjuku Soumei is an undertaker who uses his powers of immortality and the ability to hear the voices of the dead. As an undertaker, the protagonist must perform dangerous funerals in the city of Shinjuku. He meets an astral girl in the city who lends him support. The main development staff includes illustrator Kohaku Sumeragi and Christmas Tina writer Tomo Kataoka. More details about the visual novel will be revealed at a later date according to G-MODE.

Visual novel fans may also look forward to Everlasting Flowers, a new title by Aokana: Four Rhythms Across the Blue EXTRA1 and EXTRA2 developer Sprite. Suzumori is serving as director for the new visual novel alongside script writer Shikotoshi, art director Jun Azami, and sound director Takahoshi Hamano. Elements Garden is handling music alongside sound production company Magic Capsule, and BALCOLONY designed the game’s logos. Thus far, the voice cast of Everlasting Flowers includes Reina Ueda, Lynn, Chiwa Saito, Miyu Tomita, and Tomoko Miyadera.
Lastly, Shinjuku Soumei is in development with no confirmed release date or platforms.
