Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Is Steam Deck Verified, Pre-Loading Available

Rift Apart can be enjoyed on the go.

The previously PS5-exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is now Steam Deck Verified a day ahead of its launch on PC. This means that the game has passed all of Valve’s requirements to achieve this status and will be a smooth experience out of the box on Steam Deck. In addition, players who have pre-ordered the game can now start pre-loading the game on Steam.

Although Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart should be quite playable on Steam Deck, don’t expect to push the graphics too hard. While the device has respectable hardware for a handheld, chances are slim that the game will still be playable with features such as ray tracing enabled.

It’s also worth noting that the game will not be available to play after pre-loading. Steam users will need to wait until the game launches to access the game. Rift Apart will require 75 GB of free storage space, with an SSD being recommended but not required.

Why Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Is Steam Deck Verified

    Ratchet & Clank PC specifications

An infographic has been provided for PC users as to what they can expect. Users with lower-end hardware will need to keep their expectations in check. Judging by the infographic, it is likely that Steam Deck users will need to play the game at low to minimum settings. However, the device should be able to handle the game at 30 FPS without too many hiccups.

The PC port of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is being handled by Nixxes Software, which was previously responsible for successful PC ports such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. If their previous work is anything to go by, Rift Apart should be a very playable experience on PC.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be the first title in the Ratchet & Clank series to receive an official PC port. This port will contain several PC-specific features not found in the original PlayStation 5 version of the game. Players will be able to play with unlocked frame rates, choose from a wide variety of graphics options, and more.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches tomorrow on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Be sure to keep an eye on Final Weapon for more Ratchet & Clank coverage.
