SEGA and ATLUS confirmed via SEGA Korea that upcoming turn-based RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. These versions of the new Studio Zero-developed RPG will be available day-and-date with the previously announced Xbox Series X|S version.
The multiplatform announcement trailer is nearly identical to the original trailer from Xbox Games Showcase 2023. However, the very end of the trailer reveals that Metaphor: ReFantazio will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam alongside Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows. The game is currently slated for a 2024 release.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is a new fantasy RPG with elements from the Megami Tensei franchise. The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 reveal trailer showed turn-based gameplay with familiar skills from the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. Metaphor: ReFantazio character designs were handled by Persona series illustrator Shigenori Soejima, and a returning Shoji Meguro will compose the RPG’s original soundtrack.
