    Tekken 8 Reveals Returning Character Lili

    The Fighting Heiress arrives.

    Bandai Namco announced Lili is returning as a playable character in Tekken 8, the latest entry in the long-running fighting game franchise. She returns alongside Tekken 7 characters Leroy Smith and Asuka Kazama.

    Emilie de Rochefort, also known as Lili, is a Monegasque high school student and the rival of Asuka Kazama, who were both introduced in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Lili would receive her long-awaited rematch against Asuka in Tekken 7, and she will return to settle the score in Tekken 8. In Tekken 8, Lili is known as the “Fighting Heiress”, and she’s accompanied by her cat, Salt.

    The roster of Tekken 8 now includes Kazuya Mishima, Lars Alexandersson, Jun Kazama, Jin Kazama, KingNina Williams, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Ling Xiaoyu, Leroy Smith, Asuka Kazama, and Lili. Moreover, Tekken 8’s character roster has access to the new Heat System, which triggers powerful attacks and enhancements for certain abilities. Additionally, Tekken 8 features cross-play and rollback netcode according to producer Katsuhiro Harada.

    Before the launch of Tekken 8, Tekken World Tour 2023 will be the final major tournament series for Tekken 7. Tekken World Tour 2023 is regarded as the “fully offline finale” of Tekken 7. The international offline tournament series comes to multiple venues around the world. Tekken World Tour 2023 began with EVO Japan 2023, which took place from March 31 to April 2 at the Tokyo Big Sight.

    Challenger events are back for Tekken World Tour 2023, bringing community-run events into the spotlight with the opportunity of becoming future Master events. Additionally, Dojo events will return, allowing individual tournament organizers to apply as an official offline event.     Lastly, Tekken 8 is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
