Konami announced the establishment of the new Konami Osaka Studio to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary. According to Konami, the new studio will be vital toward building future titles over the next 50 years.
Konami Osaka Studio is a relocation of its existing studio with a focus on realizing the potential of the company’s game creators. It is a major Osaka-based production center fully equipped with motion control equipment and sound studios for production of upcoming games. This studio is situated in the Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South building, which is pictured below.
“Konami Osaka Studio is a developmental relocation of the existing studio and comes with the concept of ‘Creators First’,” Konami said in a press release. It is characterized by a well-developed environment where creators can demonstrate their full potential, and is set up in a location with convenient transportation access. As the major production center in Western Japan, the facility is fully equipped with motion capture equipment and sound studios necessary for product development.
The company also discussed its plans for a “next-generation” research and development (R&D) center in Tokyo. Konami Creative Front Tokyo Bay R&D center is scheduled for completion in 2025. The Ariake-based R&D center will help Konami “achieve further sustainable growth in the significantly expanding ‘entertainment’ field.” The new center is currently in construction, and further details were not revealed (Thanks, My Nintendo News)
Konami Osaka Studio opened on March 27, 2023, and Konami Creative Front Tokyo Bay will be completed in 2025.
