Manga Mavericks Books and Omoi have announced that it has licensed the Georgie shojo manga, written by Mann Izawa and illustrated by Yumiko Igarashi. It will release the manga in both print and digital formats in 2027.

Shogakukan initially serialized Georgie in Japan from 1982 to 1984 in its SHO-COMI magazine. Fairbell Inc. now publishes the series in Japan. Omoi will release the manga first in digital formats in spring 2027 for $9.99. Later, in August 2027, Manga Mavericks Books will release the first volume of the manga in print in two deluxe edition hardcover volumes at JIS B5 (5.83″ x 8.27″) size for $49.99. The second volume will release before the end of 2027. Pre-orders for the print version are available now.

The store page describes the Georgie manga as follows:

Experience the classic shojo story that captured the hearts of manga readers worldwide.

Georgie is a lively young girl who lives with her mother and two older brothers in the countryside of Australia.

One day, she meets a young English noble named Lowell, who changes her life forever and leads her on a quest to England to discover her roots.

First serialized in Japan in 1982, Georgie is a must-read coming-of-age story from acclaimed manga creators Mann Izawa and Yumiko Igarashi.

Igarashi has also shared the following message in regards to the new release of Georgie:

Hello, I’m Yumiko Igarashi.

Georgie is a story I created by gathering the many different kinds of love surrounding her, like flower petals.

As you enjoy the story, I hope you’ll also take a little moment to think about what kind of love you would like to give Georgie, or what kind of love you would like her to give you.

And to all of you readers who love Georgie so much, I love you!
