Konami’s CRIMESIGHT Shuts Down on May 1, 2023

Ending service just one year after the initial launch.

Konami announced its multiplayer social deduction game CRIMESIGHT ends service on May 1, 2023 for PC via Steam. The game will be delisted just one year after its launch due to “various circumstances.”

According to Konami, “various circumstances” led the company to decide on shutting down CRIMESIGHT this year. Specific reasons were not cited by Konami, but we can assume the game’s sales performance was a contributing factor.

Sales of CRIMESIGHT bundles end effectively immediately. Additionally, sales of the standard and deluxe editions end on Monday, February 27, roughly two months before the game shuts down permanently.

Steam players who own CRIMESIGHT will be unable to play the game at all once service ends on May 1. Online battles will be unavailable and “the game itself won’t be able to play,” according to Konami. The company hopes fans continue to enjoy the game despite the limited amount of time left.

CRIMESIGHT first launched on April 14, 2022 for PC via Steam, and the game received very positive Steam reviews within its year of operations.

Here’s what Konami had to say in an official statement:

    Service Termination Announcement

“Thank you for playing CRIMESIGHT. This service has continued to operate with the support of many users since its launch in April 2022, but due to various circumstances, we have decided to terminate the service on Monday, May 01, 2023 at 00:00 PDT.

Sales of Bundles ended on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 00:00 PST. Sales of the Standard and Deluxe editions will end on Monday, 27 February 2023 at 21:00 PST.

Online battles will not be available after the service ends. Also, the game itself won’t be able to play. Although the time left until the end of the service is limited, we hope you will enjoy it to the end.”

Fortunately, Konami shifts its focus back to the iconic Silent Hill franchise with multiple new titles coming soon. More details about each new Silent Hill title may be found below:
