A horror classic revived for current platforms.

Konami and Bloober Team announced Silent Hill 2, a new remake developed in Unreal Engine for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Silent Hill 2 is a timed PS5 console exclusive game for the first 12 months of release.

According to producer Motoi Okamoto, Konami approached concept artist Masahiro Ito three years ago for development of the remake. Okamoto is also working with renowned composer Akira Yamaoka for the remake. Yamaoka is pleased to see enthusiasm for the Silent Hill series over 20 years after the franchise began.

Silent Hill 2 is produced by Bloober Team, the studio known for horror games such as Layers of Fear and Blair Witch. A commentary video was released featuring prominent staff for the remake at Bloober Team.

The trailer and commentary video may be viewed in the Silent Hill Transmission below:

Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: SILENT HILL. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her…
