Persona 5: The Phantom X developer Perfect World Games recently held an interview with Persona series producer and P-Studio creative director Kazuhisa Wada, revealing new details about the game and it’s development. Although Persona 5: The Phantom X was developed by a team outside of Japan, Wada and ATLUS were integral to the overall vision of the project (Thanks, Persona Central).
Wada’s Main Role
Kazuhisa Wada’s main role for development of Persona 5: The Phantom X was overall direction and supervision of content including art design and animation. Moreover, this is the first spin-off title to be developed outside of Japan, so complications naturally arose during the game’s development. However, Wada assures fans that Perfect World Games have been hard at work during production with supervision by P-Studio and Wada.
Art Design by Soejima
Wada’s favorite character in Persona 5: The Phantom X is the protagonist, who was designed by Persona series character designer Shigenori Soejima. The producer believes the protagonist maintains the high level of quality that Persona is known for. Additionally, the protagonist fits the game’s world and themes, which correlate with the Persona 5 series. The sentiment is shared for the protagonist’s Persona, Jánošík, due to its unique weapons and characteristics.
Original Music by Lyn
Wada confirms Persona 5: The Phantom X will feature a large number of original music tracks featuring Persona 5 series vocalist Lyn. Persona 5: The Phantom X’s original songs incorporate elements from pop and rock music while maintain the style of Persona 5. Further details were not shared, but Wada hopes Chinese fans look forward to the game. A closed beta test will be held starting March 29 in Japan, and a release date was not revealed.
Lastly, Persona 5: The Phantom X is coming to Android, iOS, and PC (Windows) in China.
