Nintendo and ARIKA announced the Tetris 99 32nd Maximus Cup – Alear Edition event begins March 24 featuring a Fire Emblem Engage theme. For a limited-time, players may earn a special reward by participating in the new Tetris 99.
The Tetris 99 32nd Maximus Cup – Alear Edition event runs from March 24 at 12 a.m. PT to March 27 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers who earn 100 event points during the Tetris 99 32nd Maximus Cup event gain the Fire Emblem Engage theme featuring art, music, and special Tetrimino designs. A brand-new Tetris 99 gameplay trailer was released, showcasing the Fire Emblem Engage theme as depicted for the event.

32nd Maximus Cup
It’s time to command the armies of Alear, the Divine Dragon of prophecy, and save the realm! The 32nd MAXIMUS CUP Alear Edition featuring Fire Emblem Engage arrives to the Tetris 99 game for the Nintendo Switch family of systems, challenging 99 players to strategically place Tetriminos and rout the competition!
The Tetris 99 32nd MAXIMUS CUP event runs from 12 a.m. PT on March 24 to 11:59 p.m. PT on March 27. To participate, any Nintendo Switch Online member just needs to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match. Beginning with this MAXIMUS CUP, players will have a chance to earn more points than they did in previous MAXIMUS CUPS if they rank between places #90 and #2 in a match. Players who rank #1 will still earn 100 points for their display of skill.
Once players have accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by the Fire Emblem Engage game. In Fire Emblem Engage, you can summon iconic heroes like Marth and Celica with the power of Emblem Rings and add their power to yours in an epic battle to defeat Sombron the mighty Fell Dragon.

Nintendo Switch users may also play new DLC for Fire Emblem Engage by purchasing the Expansion Pass. On March 7, Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass Wave 3 added Chrom and Robin (Emblem of Bonds) and Veronica (Emblem of Heroes). Chrom and Robin specialize in thunder-based magic attacks and counterattacking, while Veronica utilizes the ability to summon heroes. These Emblems may be acquired by completing their respective paralogue quests in Fire Emblem Engage.
Lastly, Tetris 99 and Fire Emblem Engage are available now for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
