Octopath Traveler II – Taverns: What are They For?

Taverns return in Octopath Traveler II. Taverns are wonderful places with tons of people, and where there are people, there are stories. Yep, you can hear many a tale from varied perspectives. Including those of our heroes! Taverns are facilities that have a lot to offer. Use our Octopath Traveler II Tavern Guide to learn all about these useful establishments!

    Change Party

During normal gameplay you can only swap around the characters and equipment you currently have with you. If you stop by a local Tavern to take a load off, then you can swap out characters from your reserves and change the equipment and jobs of all eight characters at once! How convenient!

    Restore Reputation

Path Actions are tied to Reputation. You can fail using a path action so many times before your reputation in a town will be tarnished. If this happens then you can’t use any Path Actions in the current town. You can fix this by paying off the Barkeep at the local Tavern. The amount you have to pay depends on the town. Be careful because endgame towns will require you to pay a large fee.

    Start a New Chapter

Have you stopped by a new town and rejected the game’s request to start a new chapter? Do you have multiple characters that have business in the town you’re visiting? All you have to do is visit the Tavern and chat with the Barkeep. You can select which chapter you wish to start this way!
