Octopath Traveler II: How to View Travel Banter Scenes

Travel Banter makes its return to Octopath Traveler II. This mechanic adds more depth to the characters and extra layers to the story. These scenes are similar to skits in Tales of games. You don’t want to miss out on these since they can be missed! Use our Octopath Traveler II Travel Banter Guide to get a leg up!

    What is Travel Banter?

Travel Banter offers snippets of character interactions between main characters. The story of each character still focuses solely on them, but Travel Banter allows your other party members to chime in. This can offer some mild character development or some entertaining interactions. However, these interactions will only occur between the current chapter’s main character and one of your other party members. Meaning that the ‘other’ characters don’t interact with each other unless you do a chapter where they are a main character.

    How to Get Travel Banter

You get Travel Banter during the main story chapters. Typically after you complete the chapter or visit a new town. Keep an eye out for a ‘+’ or ‘options’ button prompt. This will activate the Travel Banter scene. These scenes are missable. You can visit the Tavern and swap characters in order to view even more scenes after the completion of a chapter. This execution rolls over from the first game. This can be on the tedious side. It’s understandable if you settle for seeing the banter between a favorite party of yours and naturally seeing banter occur as you play the game.
