    New Dragon Quest Mobile RPG To Be Announced On January 18

    A brand-new mobile project will soon be unveiled.

    Square Enix confirmed that a brand new Dragon Quest mobile RPG will be announced on January 18 for Android and iOS.

    Square Enix launched its own teaser website for the new Dragon Quest mobile RPG. The game’s exact genre is teased as “? RPG,” and an official Japanese Twitter account is now live as well.

    Fans may view the announcement in Square Enix’s “New Dragon Quest Mobile RPG” presentation on YouTube. This presentation features an overview of the new title, live gameplay, and much more. Square Enix will host the announcement event on Wednesday, January 18 at 5 a.m. EDT (Thanks, Gematsu).

    Dragon Quest Keshi Keshi and Dragon Quest Tact are Square Enix’s latest mobile games in the franchise. The company is currently developing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate for modern platforms. Series creator Yuji Horii teased more news for Dragon Quest fans was coming soon.

    Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka was arrested for alleged insider trading involving knowledge of Dragon Quest Tact before the game’s announcement. Naka supposedly used this knowledge to purchase roughly 10,000 shares in Aiming, the developer of Dragon Quest Tact. Naka was formally indicted for insider trading charges involving Ateam Entertainment, the developer of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.
