A Japanese girl finds her way in a different world with a young man who could help determine his fate in the anime adaptation of the From Far Away shōjo manga. The story of From Far Away focuses on Japanese schoolgirl Noriko, who is thrown into a strange fantasy world while heading back home. She is rescued and befriended by a handsome young man named Izark. Although Izark is a valiant man, he hides a dark evil within him, and a prophecy claims that Noriko is a woman capable of unleashing that evil. The two become allies on a journey through this beautiful yet hostile world.

New episodes of From Far Away will release on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET on Crunchyroll. Episodes will be released with English subs. From Far Away is expected to feature 12 episodes in total.

What is From Far Away About?

Kyouko Hikawa’s From Far Away manga ran from 1991 to 2002 in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine. Hakusensha published the manga’s 14th and final compiled book volume in 2003. Further, the Bunko edition of the manga was published in seven volumes from 2004 to 2005. VIZ Media publishes the manga in English.

Here’s a story synopsis, via VIZ Media:

On her way home from school one day, Noriko is unexpectedly plunged into a strange and extraordinary fantasy world. Her troubles compound exponentially when she is rescued and befriended by a handsome young man by the name of Izark.

He may be brave and courageous, but inside Izark lurks the darkest evil imaginable. And according to an ancient prophecy, Noriko possesses the power to unleash that evil. Now, inexorably bound together, these two unlikely allies must navigate a world both wondrous and hostile.
