Square Enix Preparing to Share More Final Fantasy XVI News in 2023

A big year approaches for Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy XVI is one of the most anticipated game releases of 2023, and Square Enix is preparing to share more news soon.

In a new Twitter post by the official Final Fantasy XVI account, Square Enix confirmed that the company is preparing to share more news ahead of the June 22, 2023 release. Square Enix did not elaborate further on what could be shown before launch. The company hopes fans look forward to the new information all the same.

Development of Final Fantasy XVI is wrapping up according to producer Naoki Yoshida. Yoshida previously teased news about the game, including a release date reveal, for December 2022. At The Game Awards 2022, the producer took to the stage to reveal a new trailer and the June 22 release date. Even more news came shortly after the awards show on December 8.

Square Enix would reveal various editions of Final Fantasy XVI including the extravagant $349.99 collector’s edition. The collector’s edition features a Phoenix vs Ifrit figure, cloth map of Valisthea, Blood Sword DLC, metal pin set, and a special Clive Rosfield. Pre-orders for Final Fantasy XVI began on December 12.

Following the pre-order reveal, Square Enix shared a first look at Moogles in Final Fantasy XVI. These Moogles retain their signature design last shown in titles such as Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy XIV.

Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI launches on June 22, 2023 for PlayStation 5, and more news is coming in the new year.
