Final Fantasy XVI will be an exclusive for PlayStation 5 for at least six months according to PlayStation’s latest PS5 sizzle trailer.
Final Fantasy XVI appears briefly within the “PlayStation 5 – Play Like Never Before” sizzle trailer with the text “anticipated Summer 2023. PS5 exclusive for six months.” After the PS5 exclusive period is over, it’s assumed that Final Fantasy XVI will come to PC. The game’s initial reveal trailer included mention of a PC version before being replaced with a revised trailer. The revised trailer removes mention of Final Fantasy XVI’s PC version since the game is a PlayStation console exclusive for the time being.
Here’s the new sizzle trailer below via PlayStation:
Final Fantasy XVI development is 95% complete according to recent interviews with producer Naoki Yoshida. An exact release date will be revealed before the end of 2022. Speculation currently points toward a reveal at The Game Awards 2022 on December 8. A demo is planned, but it will most likely release closer to the launch of Final Fantasy XVI in summer 2023. This means players can expect the demo to release around spring 2023 at the earliest.
Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI launches in Summer 2023 for PS5 worldwide.
