SEGA working to improve game quality of Sonic Frontiers, targets high review scores

SEGA is currently working to improve the overall game quality of Sonic Frontiers. The new Sonic game releases this holiday and SEGA is targetting high review scores around launch. SEGA Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Koichi Fukazawa confirmed this when asked during the latest analyst and investor Q&A session.

Here’s the official excerpt:

“We have set internal targets, as the correlation between the scores of external evaluation organizations and sales is high in Europe and North America,” they said.

“If the game gets a high score, it can become a must-buy game, and possibly generate synergy with sales, so we are currently working hard to improve the quality of the game toward its sales for the holiday season.”

Previously, SEGA of America social media manager Katie Chrzanowski reconfirmed the Holiday 2022 release window for Sonic Frontiers. More news about the upcoming game is coming soon. Here’s what she had to say:

“See a lot of people asking about [Sonic] Frontiers, we don’t have news on Frontiers today but don’t worry soon. It’s still set to come out this holiday, so we will have news for you this year, don’t worry.”

The remastered collection, Sonic Origins, Sonic Origins releases on June 23rd for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Sonic Frontiers releases this holiday across all platforms.
