SEGA to release multiple remasters, remakes, and new games by March 2023

SEGA confirmed plans to release multiple remasters, remakes, and new games by March 2023 according to the company’s fiscal year 2022 results presentation. One of these major titles include Sonic Origins, a collection of enhanced classic Sonic the Hedgehog games, releasing on June 23rd.

The company states the plan is for a “significant increase in new titles” by the end of the fiscal year. Remasters and remakes fall under this category as SEGA aims for a 20% increase in ordinary income over the next year. Speculation is already rampant over which games could be remade, but some major games are already rumored by various sources.

For fiscal year ending in March 2023, SEGA forecasts 13 million software sales, which is nearly double the 7 million sold during FY2022. SEGA is currently developing more games under the “Super Game” initiative. Some of the games under the Super Game initiative include rumored remakes of Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi.

Sonic Frontiers is set for a Holiday 2022 as another major game for the company. More news about Sonic Frontiers is coming soon as reiterated by the official social manager. Both Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers are coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
