Rumor: Twisted Metal reboot switches developers from Lucid Games to unnamed Sony studio in Europe

The Twisted Metal project in the works by the Destruction All-Stars development team has been scrapped. According to VGC, the rumored Twisted Metal reboot switched developers from Lucid Games to an unnamed Sony studio in Europe. Work on the reboot has begun in the European studio to coincide with the Twisted Metal TV series in 2023. Sony confirmed their involvement with the TV series during CES 2022. VGC’s sources did not claim why the project at Lucid Games was scrapped in favor of another studio developing the game. However, it’s likely that Destruction All-Stars’ poor reception was a factor in the decision.
