Rumor: Mario Kart 9 in active development for Switch with “a new twist”

Several gaming related analysts shared predictions and insight for 2022 over at with one tidbit regarding Mario Kart 9. According to reputable analyst Dr. Serkan Toto, Nintendo is actively developing Mario Kart 9 with “a new twist” for Switch. Toto also mentioned a possible established Nintendo IP coming to mobile devices this year. Here’s what he had to say:

I am aware Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still selling very well on the Nintendo Switch, but Mario Kart 9 is in active development (and comes with a new twist) and Nintendo could tease it this year. On mobile, Nintendo has been very silent since Mario Kart Tour’s launch in 2019, but I think 2022 is when we will see an established IP arriving on smart devices again.

Hopefully, Toto’s information regarding Mario Kart 9 comes true. A new game in the franchise would do very well following the momentum of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
