Metroid Dread shattered records during the month of October 2021! According to the US NPD results, Metroid Dread achieved the highest launch month sales in series history. It nearly doubled the physical dollar sales of the original Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime has finally been dethroned after nearly 20 years. Metroid Dread was also the best selling Switch game of October 2021 and the 3rd best selling game overall without counting digital sales.
