Famitsu revealed the total physical sales data for the month of October 2021 in Japan. The data covers sales from September 27th to October 31st this year. According to the results, Mario Party Superstars & Metroid Dread were the best selling games of the month. Mario Party Superstars sold 163,256 copies during October while Metroid Dread came in second at 124,501 copies sold. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Hinokami Chronicles for PS4 & PS5 came in third at roughly 120,000 copies sold.
Super Robot Wars 30 made a stunning impact selling over 70,000 copies in just 4 days on Switch to make it to #4. Rounding out the top 5 is The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki which sold roughly 60,000 copies for PS4 since release on September 30th. Within the month of October 2021 in Japan, Nintendo sold over 656,000 games and 476,000 Switch consoles. The PS5 was the second best selling console at 85,712 units sold. Overall, it was a very strong month for the Switch, Super Robot Wars 30 and Demon Slayer!
