Rumor: Unannounced Switch re-release of Metroid Prime 1 is reportedly complete

The latest rumor comes from Emily Rogers and VGC as it’s reported that an unannounced Switch re-release of Metroid Prime 1 is complete. According to both sources, Nintendo has plans to re-release the game alone for Switch instead of the trilogy. Development of the re-release finished up this past summer according to Rogers. Details about what’s coming in the re-release itself is unknown but Nintendo reportedly wants to celebrate the game’s 20th Anniversary in a big way in 2022. GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb corroborates the rumor from both outlets who have heard similar information. As a reminder, this is considered a rumor for now since information is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.
