    PS5 production plans cut by 1 million units due to supply disruptions

    PS5 production takes a cut with the ongoing semiconductor shortage, supply chain disruptions and logistical issues during 2021 (Thanks, VGC). Sony has reduced their production outlook for the current fiscal year ending on March 2022 from 16 million units to 15 million units. PS5 is still hard to obtain and even with record sales, the console is behind the sales momentum of the PS4’s launch period. The current supply chain disruptions and shortage have also affected Nintendo’s Switch production outlook from 30 million units to 24 million units during the same fiscal year.
