D3 Publisher announced via Weekly Famitsu that Earth Defense Force 2017 is coming to Switch this fall in Japan! The Switch version is a port of the original release from the PS Vita and further details will be shared at a later date. In case you missed it, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is coming to Switch too.
