The latest rumor comes from Dusk Golem, who accurately detailed past Resident Evil games before announcements along with Monster Hunter Switch (Rise). The Switch is getting more out of RE Engine than originally thought as RE:Revelations 3 is still in the works. However, it’s supposedly been retitled to “Resident Evil: Outrage”. The game utilizes the RE Engine like Monster Hunter Rise and will be a Switch exclusive. According to Golem, the game is planned to launch in late 2021 or early 2022.

Rebecca Chambers is rumored to be the protagonist of Resident Evil: Outrage with two unnamed returning characters to be included. It’s also been in development for roughly 4 years at Capcom. If this is true, a Resident Evil game running on Switch with the optimized RE Engine could be very promising. It’s best to take this rumor with a grain of salt even if some details came from the Capcom data breach. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates.
