Mario Kart Tour’s Multiplayer Launches on March 8th

Mario Kart Tour will have its multiplayer launch and go live on March 8th.  Nintendo announced via the official Mario Kart Tour twitter account.

Nintendo previously released a beta version of the multiplayer feature back in December to Gold Pass subscribers of the mobile game.

In a separate tweet, Nintendo describes multiplayer as follows:

“Multiplayer for Mario Kart Tour comes out on Mar. 8, 8 PM PT! You can compete against seven other players, whether they’re in-game friends, nearby, or around the world. Are you ready to play?”

Mario Kart Tour originally released in September for iOS and Android mobile devices.  And is free to play.

Tetsuya Nomura confirms that Final Fantasy VII Remake has gone gold

In a recent 4Gamer interview with Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura, Final Fantasy VII Remake is confirmed to have gone gold! This means that development of the game is finished and the game is ready to start being published on discs, digitally, etc. The delay from March 3rd to April 10th allowed Nomura and his team to work further on improving the quality of the game. Of course, Nomura confirmed that no more delays are happening as well.

Bandai Namco has postponed Tokyo Tekken Masters 2020 due to coronavirus concerns

Another event has been affected by implications caused by the coronavirus as Bandai Namco has postponed Tokyo Tekken Masters 2020. HAL Laboratory and Monolith Soft are recruiting more staff for their studios. Both are wanting to recruit Japanese 2021 graduates to freshen up the studios with new ideas. Its a necessary step to helping build the future at HAL and Monolith Soft for games like Kirby, Xenoblade and even The Legend of Zelda. Both companies are looking for engineers, directors, designers, planners and programmers.

Square Enix has announced that the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo is finally available! Players are able to try out the highly anticipated remake on PS4. Along with this, a new trailer was released. Check it out below:

Nintendo cancels 5th annual Splatoon Koshien tournament in Tokai due to coronavirus concerns

Nintendo today announced that the Tokai region leg of their 5th annual Splatoon Koshien tournament and Ikasu Culture Festival has been canceled due to concerns regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

Originally going to be held on March 20th and 21st in Nagoya, Nintendo said that they wanted to prioritize the health and safety of event attendees and players, especially considering that the Aichi Prefecture has the third-largest amount of infections in Japan so far.

Nintendo states that they’re currently monitoring the situation and will wait to announce whether or not the National Finals will be held in April. They also mentioned that every team except one from the Tokai region would be represented in the National Finals.

Hideki Kamiya states that the final Platinum 4 reveal isn’t too far away, will be “a doozy”

Hideki Kamiya sat down with DualShockers for an interview and says the final Platinum 4 reveal isn’t too far away. The Wonderful 101 Remastered, Project G.G. and Platinum Games Tokyo were the previous 3 announcements in the Platinum 4. This sets the bar high for this final announcement and Platinum is well aware. Kamiya teases what’s to come, saying that that the final announcement will be “a doozy” and fans should “be ready for when you hear it.”

Granblue Fantasy 6th Anniversary live stream airs on March 8th

Cygames has announced that a special Granblue Fantasy 6th Anniversary stream is airing on March 8th! The stream will showcase new game information for the Granblue Fantasy mobile game along with news on future developments. The Granblue Fantasy is huge for Cygames with an upcoming PS4 in development, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, which was formerly under development by Platinum Games.
