Re:bel Robotica Anime Premieres in 2027

During Anime Expo 2026, Amuse Creative Studio revealed the trailer, key visual, staff members, and 2027 premiere date for the anime adaptation of Mika Pikazo’s Re:bel Robotica mixed-media project.

Re:bel Robotica

Shin Ōnuma is the anime’s general director. Kōki Onoue, known for his work on Sakamoto Days, is directing the anime at SILVER LINK.Ryō Yoshigami is in charge of the anime’s series composition, and Kazuyuki Yamayoshi is handlin the character design. Yuki Kajiura is composing the anime’s theme song and insert song. Takumi Ozawa and Shiho Terada are composing the music.

Pikazo launched the Re:bel Robotica project as a self-published doujin work at the summer 2017 Comiket. ARCH would begin working with Pikazo in 2019 to further develop the project, leading to multiple light novel releases by various authors. Amuse Creative Studio describes the anime as follows:

Robotica. Machines made in the very likeness of humankind.

Robotica. Beings that exist to serve humanity.

Robotica. Created to bring people happiness.

The year 2050 —

In a near-future Tokyo where dramatic leaps in information technology have promised every person a comfortable, contented life: Shibuya. An enigmatic girl named Lily. Her very existence will shake the world.

In 2019, Publishing company ARCH partnered with Mika Pikazo to expand the project. Ryō Yoshigami serialized the novel Re:bel Robotica Episode #β One Day on the project’s official website from January to May 2020. He later authored the prequel light novel Re:bel Robotica 0, which was released in September 2022. Later that month, Gakuto Mikumo published another light novel titled Re:bel Robotica.
