GDC introduces replacement event “GDC Summer” set for August 4th to 6th 2020.

The Games Developer Conference team has revealed today that they are having a new event this summer called “GDC Summer”. This event will be shorter in length and smaller than before. The original GDC event was cancelled due to Coronavirus fears, as multiple companies started to pull out before the event happened.

GDC Summer will take place on August 4th 2020 and go to August 6th 2020. It will be held at the San Francisco Moscone Center. The same venue GDC was going to be held at. Hopefully all the companies that backed out will be able to make it this time around.

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories demo is available now for PS4 and Switch in the west

NIS America has released a demo for Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories in the Switch eShop and PlayStation Store! The game releases on April 7th and this demo allows players to try a portion of the game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot “Time Machine” update releases tomorrow, March 20th

Bandai Namco has announced that the anticipated time machine update is coming to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot tomorrow! The time machine allows players to replay story missions and scenes whenever they want. Its a good feature toward getting those S ranks:

Fairy Tail RPG – Story Trailer

Koei Tecmo and Gust have released a new story trailer for the upcoming Fairy Tail RPG! In addition, Gildarts Clive was revealed as a new playable character in the game. Gildarts is a S-Class mage who can uses “Crush” magic to reduce anything he touches to rubble. In addition, a Miss Fairy Tail costume for Erza was revealed as an early purchase bonus. Guilty Gear Strive announces Closed Beta for April 16th-19th. Will also receive Rollback Netcode when released

ArcSystemWorks has released a ton of new information today about Guilty Gear Strive. They have revealed that the game will be having a closed Beta between April 16th to the 19th. You can send in an application to enter here. Players who filled out surveys at ArcREVO 2019, Frosty Faustings, EVO Japan 2020, and JAEPO 2020 will not need to fill anything out. Those players will get a code right away.

 

ArcSystemWorks has also revealed that Guilty Gear Strive will also have Rollback Netcode. While the Beta will not have, the final release of the game will. This is a huge announcement that fans have been waiting for. Guilty Gear Strive is set to release in September of this year.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons will release with a new update for the game. Update 1.1 for New Horizons gives players a free in-game Nintendo Switch to match their own console! For instance, having an Animal Crossing themed Switch will gift the player with an in-game version of the console to add as a decoration:

GameStop has announced that they will sell DOOM Eternal one day early to comply with CDC guidelines! This is in an effort to prevent large gatherings and serve as a safety precaution for employees/customers.

DOOM Eternal releases officially on March 20th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is coming at a later date. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest gaming news!

Street Fighter V to make further adjustments to Online Matchmaking with an update on March 24th

Yoshinori Ono and the Street Fighter V team have both come out and said they are planning to update the Online Matchmaking once again. They told fans today that they have been listening to feedback and will further continue to improve SFV’s matchmaking. The details of this patch will be released when it goes live on March 24th.

 

Last month Capcom rolled out a Netcode adjustment patch that seemed to help players find less laggy matches. The patch seemed to strengthen the Online Matchmaking, so it is nice to see them trying to fix it completely.
