Animal Crossing: New Horizons producer Hasashi Nogami hopes “fans use the game as an escape to enjoy themselves during this difficult time”

With the coronavirus pandemic and many people staying at home for weeks to come, video games are a great outlet to turn away from these tough times. Animal Crossing: New Horizons producer Hasashi Nogami thinks the same, stating that he hopes “fans use the game as an escape to enjoy themselves during this difficult time.” Here’s the full excerpt courtesy of The Verge:

“We’ve been planning this release for quite some time, so it’s unfortunate that this timing overlapped with what’s currently happening in the world. I am very disheartened and saddened by the events happening across the world. Considering the timing, we hope that a lot of the Animal Crossing fans will use this as an escape, so they can enjoy themselves during this difficult time.”

This Tom Nook sponsored deserted-island getaway might be what many people need to get through this situation. We hope many players enjoy Animal Crossing: New Horizons as much as we do! As always, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!

Sony Confirms Nearly All PS4 Titles Will Be Playable on PS5

Sony has confirmed that nearly every PlayStation 4 title will, in fact, be playable on PlayStation 5.  The company stated in an updated blog post today.

“A quick update on backward compatibility.  With all of the amazing games in PS4’s catalog, we’ve devoted significant efforts to enable our fans to play their favorites on PS5. We believe that the overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 titles will be playable on PS5,” the post states.

This new info clears up the confusion revealed by Sony originally.  That the upcoming console would be compatible with almost all the “Top 100” PlayStation 4 titles, out of the over 4,000 released.  So, its good to see Sony be more specific regarding backward compatibility.

PlayStation 5 will release this later this year.  Price and specific dates are still to be announced.  In the meantime, Sony also revealed the system’s specifications, which you can view here.

The game’s spectacular special moves, innovative mechanics, unique characters, game-defining hard rock soundtrack, and anime-infused story brought the fighting game genre to new, unparalleled heights. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign rated in South Korea

The rumor for quite some time has been that we would eventually be seeing a remaster or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and today those rumors may have just confirmed to be factual.

The game has been officially rated in South Korea all but confirming its eventual release.  To be accurate, this would be just for the campaign.  You can check out the link to the South Korean ratings board website here.

It appears to be listed as a standalone game and not packed in with the next Call of Duty game like we saw in the past with Modern Warfare being packed in with Infinite Warfare.

Although this is just for the campaign, it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw multiplayer added on at a later date.
