Falcom has announced that the Trails series has exceeded 10 million copies sold worldwide, and the company has once again revisited its full-year earnings forecast following the early worldwide success of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and this past July’s release of Kyoto Xanadu in Japan. Falcom has increased its overall forecast to account for the continued success of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter as well.
According to Falcom, sales for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter are still going strong, contributing greatly to the series’ 10 million sales milestone. Projected revenue has been raised 19.4% from its previous forecast of $22.7 million to $27.1 million. Operating profit expectations also jumped by 27.2% from $13.9 million to $17.6 million, and net profits saw a 26.6% increase from $9.4 million to $12 million.
A global release date for Kyoto Xanadu was not announced just yet, but the latest report suggests that the game did contribute steadily to Falcom’s growing sales. The company is also expected to reveal its Trails beyond the Horizon sequel in the near future, according to a recent interview with president Toshihiro Kondo.
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter was recently nominated for the Best Remake/Remaster award at the Golden Joystick Awards, which will be held in London on November 11. Fans can vote for the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and other nominees for Golden Joystick Awards honors through October 23 at GamesRadar.

Final Weapon reviewed Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and gave it a 4.5/5 score, noting that the game is “an incredible remake that adapts the original sequel in a vibrant and refreshing game. With an improved combat system, superb English and Japanese voice-acting, and a colorful and vast world, 2nd Chapter expands the scope of the original Trails in the Sky SC to captivate new and returning players.”
