What is Magical Girl Raising Project Restart About?

Endō launched the original light novel series with Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Bunko imprint in June 2012. The “restart” arc is covered in the light novel series’ second and third volumes, and the anime covers this same arc. Yen Press publishes the novel series in English.

Asia-One Asia describes the series as follows:

Chosen by the “Land of Magic” that exists hidden from the human world, girls are granted unique powers to become magical girls. Among them is Pechka, who uses the magic to “make food delicious.” Alongside 16 other unfamiliar, highly distinct magical girls, she is forced to participate in a mysterious virtual game. What was supposed to be a safe training exercise to enhance their magical abilities turns out to be the beginning of an engineered nightmare, a forbidden trial. It marks the restart of a new “Magical Girl Raising Project.”
