Nintendo has announced that it will hold two Nintendo Direct presentations: one of which will be on September 8, and the other on September 9. The former will focus on The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary and last for 30 minutes, while the latter will be a 45-minute general direct.
The Legend of Zelda direct will premiere on September 8 at 7 AM PDT/10 AM EDT. It will likely feature news pertaining to the upcoming film adaptation, as well as the 2026 release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2. The movie will star Bo Bragason as Zelda, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, Uli Latukefu as Ganondorf, Dichen Lachman as Impa, and Yvonne Strahovski and Sam Neill in undisclosed roles. Wes Ball directs the film, which will premiere in theaters on April 30, 2027.
As for the general direct, it will premiere on September 9 at 7 AM PDT/10 AM EDT. It may feature updates on upcoming Nintendo games such as Xenoblade Genesis and The Duskbloods. Rumors suggest that there may be reveals pertaining to the future of the Mario franchise, as well as far more surprises that Nintendo is hiding up its sleeves. After the direct, there will be a Nintendo Treehouse featuring gameplay for the titles featured in both directs. It will be available to stream on Nintendo Today and its YouTube channel. Lastly, the next major Nintendo game, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, will launch on September 17 for Nintendo Switch 2 for $70 digitally and $80 physically. Several new details about the upcoming title were revealed at the August 4 Direct. A “Dagdan Edition” will be available with art cards, a map of Dagda, an artbook, and a steelbook case.
