Nintendo has released a new Nintendo Direct for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which reveals new details about its gameplay and story. It also reveals that select tracks for the game are available now on Nintendo Music, and a Fire Emblem theme is now available on Nintendo Today.
The direct further showcases the four major characters: Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda. So far, the main cast includes Zeno Robinson as Cai, Xander Mobus as Dietrich, Shara Kirby as Theodora, and Katiana Sarkessian as Leda. You can pick one of the four characters at the beginning, and watch their story unfold as they take part in the Dagdan Heroic Games. You can also switch between characters throughout the narrative, allowing you to experience each character’s story in parallel.
It also highlights the gameplay, which features the same strategy RPG style of prior games. There are unique attacks that each character can use titled Blaze Arts, as well as various Beginner, Specialty, and Advanced classes. Some of the classes include the powerful Advanced class, Elephant Rider, and the Specialty class known as Armored Knight. Between matches of the games, you can explore Dagda and the broader world beyond it. Here, you can recruit new party members, buy supplies, complete side quests, or further power up your party’s capabilities. Support Conversations also return, with sprites that are far more animated compared to prior entries.
The biggest reveal in the Direct is that the story actually begins five years after the Heroic Games, in 1453. Dadga is in ruins, and the Goddess Sothis summons a soul that can stand against the invading God, Balor. That soul is you, the player, the true protagonist of the story. You can choose to either fight Balor alone, or travel back in time to recruit the four main characters. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches September 17 for Nintendo Switch 2 for $70 digitally and $80 physically. A “Dagdan Edition” will be available with art cards, a map of Dagda, an artbook, and a steelbook case. Lastly, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is available to wishlist now on the Nintendo eShop.
